NaNoWriYe Day 90

Wow, three months! And I've got slightly more than 66K written, which means I'm an entire month ahead. This is good. I'm going to need it -- April is looking to be a very bad month for the creative juices.

I've started writing The Seventh Druid again. I can't remember most of my notes, which means I'm going to need to start writing them down. I can't remember any of the history or the plot I had figured out; I can't even remember what my characters look like! O_O

For that reason, I am going to post some character profiles and/or info here later.

Later...

(from The Probert Encyclopedia)

Ovate
An ovate was a type of druid. His purpose was to observe and invent. His robe was green symbolizing budding life.

Bard
A bard was an order of druid. The bard's office was to supervise, regulate and to lead. His robe was sky blue, symbolizing justice and truth.

Primitive druid
The primitive druid was an order of druid involved with teaching science and religion. His robe was white symbolizing light, purity and knowledge.

Doesn't really do much for me. :/ I'll use them as references, but I have warrior druids and messenger druids and -- well, I guess I took Irish/Celtic mythology and warped it until it's barely noticeable. Oops?

Even later...

My druid notes! Hooray for coming up with a system!

Druid types
-Warrior Druid
-Bardic Druid
-Primitive Druids

NaNoWriYe Day 89

Long time no blog! School chewed me up, vomited me, and ate me up again. (Ew.)

Circle of Nimue is *still* deader than dead. I can't think of anything to write. WOE. WOE I say. For King and Phoenix is slightly better off, but mostly, my writing is...

Dead.

Defunct.

Stale.

Untouched.

Ugh. See if I can bang out some words somewhere, yes? As of yesterday, approx. 66K written out of 200K.

NaNoWriYe Day 62

February was NOT one of my best months. Hopefully March will shape up to be better. The Seventh Druid is STILL stuck in a corner, which is really annoying since I can't seem to find the reverse key. Honestly.

However, I have hit 51K, which means about 26% of my 200K word count goal is finished. This is good.

NaNoWriYe Day 30

35K! Woo!

Got a lot of red numbers in this excel chart (i.e. below recommended amount for the day). I can't find it in myself to care, mostly because I sort of lost count between the 26th and today, but I sort of clumped it all up into two or three days. So yeah.

The Seventh Druid hit a wall, which I'm going to dig myself through in February, hopefully.

OMG! Thank you, Erin!

NaNoWriYe Day 20

Because I'm a total idiot, I got stuck on The Seventh Druid, read some really great Harry Potter fanfic, and got the itch.

Yes, well, I've now started a brand-new epic, after finishing my last one (which still needs major, massive, ridiculously amounts of editing), involving five years post-war, an investigative journalist of my own creation, Severus/Harry, and maybe Kingsley/Blaise, if I am so lucky. And a het pairing that I'm not quite sure of yet.

I'm reluctant to pair my OC with anyone canon, though. :/ But in any case, the fic is HBP compliant, not DH, and will probably have lots of secrets and not much sex.

Meh.

I've only just started, give me a break.

In other writerly news, English class Free Choice Writing has begun and I've started (and gotten stuck on) a sort of detective short story that involves a shipwreck and smuggling cadavers, a retired police officer married to a retired investigator, and a lovesick romance writer as the retired police officer's sister.

I dunno. I think I'm crazy.

Much later:

I'm utterly mad.

NaNoWriYe Day 16

Passed 22K by some miracle about two hours ago. Should probably be working on my history project. Meh. Procrastination, what can I say?

The new link, "How Good is This?", is a blog from an OLD, OLD friend that I haven't kept in touch with since... summer of last year, I believe. (bad Shona!) Of course, most of that can be blamed on my computer melt-down, losing every link I owned, and my faulty memory in combination, but I don't like excuses.

So, soy sorry, Jim. Congrats on your relationship with Traci and the arrival of that ADORABLE doggie THAT I WANT FOR MYSELF, Eddie.

I'm glad I'm back in touch. ^_^ He has my favorite blog of all time, so I'm super happy I have the link again. Of course, he succeeded in melting my brand-new speakers (metaphorically speaking) with that horrible Tom Cruise video he posted. I think I about lost my marbles listening to that guy. >_> Click the link. You'll see what I'm talking about.

You might want to borrow some speakers.

Clip of the day:

And in Ireland, the Celts thrived before the iron fist of Caesar came down on them. The Celts knew their business They knew of the Other places -- that there was more than Earthen, Heaven, or Hell. They believed -- they kept the gods alive. They kept the tales true, kept them going, even through the aching rule of Caesar and the maddening reign of Augustus. The druids continued their practice, their magic-weaving and healing, their role as aides and messengers.

Until at last, new words were created:

"pagan" and "infidel", "myth and "lies", "religion" and "One God".
